The Fray yesterday released their third studio album Scars & Stories via Epic Records. It marks their highly anticipated return to airwaves following their incredible self-titled sophomore album in 2009. Fans have anxiously awaited new material from the Denver-based quartet and The Fray have delivered nothing but perfection on their latest effort. This time around the band teamed up with coveted producer Brendan O’Brien to navigate new sonic territory for what turned out to be their most challenging and impressive album to date.
The band revealed they used part of the album budget to travel and explore the world before beginning the writing and recording process. Having collectively gone through hardships they flowed that vulnerability into their writing. Of the process Isaac Slade states “We’ve been through a lot of stuff personally, and as band we’re still together, and I think we like the idea of scars you know, because they’re healed you know. They are not like wounds necessarily, but they’re still kind of a road map of where you been, and sometimes kinda point to where you want to go.”
Stand out tracks are: Heartbeat, Run For Your Life, I Can Barely Say and Here We Are. The Fray have wrapped their signature sound around some powerful new lyrics. The only thing recycled about this effort is their ability to infuse everything they touch with pure emotion. Not only will you love this album…you will feel it too.

The Fray finished the night with a powerful version of Be Still, a stunning ballad off their new studio album Scars & Stories. [...]
